Mercy Ships

Teaching on
a ship
Since August 2025, I have been working as a Grade 2/3 volunteer teacher on the African Mercy, one of the ships of Mercy Ships.
We teach the children of staff on board, while also having opportunities to be involved in local projects, English clubs, and church activities.
In the classroom, I try to help my students connect with the work of Mercy Ships and Madagascar. We do this through interactions with patients, such as playing games or dancing together, and by participating in events like Celebration of Sight and Day Crew celebrations. Once a week, a day crew comes into our class to teach us Malagasy, helping us connect with the local community.
This work is entirely volunteer-based. I am currently looking for people who would like to partner with me by supporting my work on a monthly basis.
If you are interested in supporting or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to reach out via email or through the link below. This is my personal support page through Mercy Ships.
